Design Blog Profile: Grassroots Modern!

It’s our favorite day of the week here at the Swank Lighting blog, the day that we bring you a profile of a favorite design blog and favorite design bloggers! Up today is the great site Grassroots Modern. A simple and small operation, Grassroots Modern is all about bringing affordable and fun modern design information to folks who need it.

According to the “about” section, Grassroots Modern was “started to help those who are looking for a modern contemporary style at an affordable price. We hope to be able to connect passionate designers with the masses and become a catalyst for change in the modern contemporary world.” Authors Creede Fitch and Capree Kimball seem to take great pride in bringing affordable modernism to the masses, after all, even if you have tons of money, who doesn’t love a deal?

Fitch, who’s a self-proclaimed design junkie and Kimball, a photographer, have a great eye for finding those new and awesome modern design elements that pop up all over the world. You’ll see on the site topics covered like neat modern lights, inspiring interior spaces, and nearly everything in between.

The layout and design of Grassroots Modern is as clean as each author’s personal aesthetic, and you’ll enjoy lazily browsing posts or searching through category tags like dishes, DIY, electricity, exteriors, flooring, furniture, glasses, green and more.

You can also browse through the renovation project of a whole house on the site, and get inspiration for your own possible renovations, not to mention learn from their mistakes (which sometimes happen when DIY is involved). Overall, you’ll find the site enjoyable and educational!
