We wowed you earlier this week with the fabulous furniture designs that came from the now-defunct Los Angeles, California-based Mid-Century Modern furniture manufacturing company Brown-Saltman. They treasured high-quality, clean lines and gorgeous designs, and we’ve found a Swank Lighting pair of lamps that go perfectly with those ideals.

This
Brown-Saltman sideboard is a perfect representation of the sort of furniture the company produced and was made famous for. A simple wood piece, it features a stream-lined design and a nice neutral wood-color tone. Imbued with lots of storage, they have drawers in the center panel, two door and even some plastic storage drawers behind one of the doors. Designed by the famed Paul Laszlo, the piece features plenty of his great style. Of course our favorite thing about the piece are the fabulous details; check out those biomorphic handles.

This isn’t the first time we’ve grabbed a pair of Swank Lighting lamps in this fabulously elongated shape. These are
Extremely Rare Canary Yellow Vintage Murano Lamps from Italy from the 1960’s, and they feature an impossibly long neck that gently slopes into a petite and curvy bulbous shape. Tall and thin these lamps accentuate the vertical, and their bright canary yellow color shocks the senses. We appreciate how smooth and rich the color is, creamy even. The lamps are placed on simple Lucite bases for a great modern effect.

Placed together, you can why we chose these pieces to go together. Both the sideboard and the lamps feature smooth lines and simple shapes. Their simplicity complements one another, but also makes the other seem more rich and interesting. The colors are perfect for one another, the bright yellow grabbing just enough attention, but also working well with the undertones of the neutral wood tone. Together they don’t make the most complicated combination, but that’s part of the beauty of this composition. It’s simple, stunning and sophisticated!
