The First Top Five 1stdibs List!

As you may have gathered, we’re big fans of the furniture, accessories and art website 1stdibs. Every Wednesday, 1stdibs publishes the week’s newest arrivals. Needless to say, it’s a list full of some of the most gorgeous items you’ve ever seen, and it’s overwhelming. Each Wednesday over here at Swank Lighting, we post our “1stdibs top five”, a list of our favorite new items over at 1stdibs. We choose our favorites based on uniqueness, fabulousness and sometimes price!

1) Signed Curtis Jere Wall Sculpture
We’re a fan of paintings on the walls of homes as much as any other person, but sometimes we like to change things up a bit. Adding a sculpture to a wall really creates energy and texture to a space. We love this 1960's geometric sculptural piece from Curtis Jere, with burnished gold tones. It’s signed "Jere '69".

2) Flatbar chrome and leather sofa by Milo Baughman
At once a cool modern piece but with definite hints of vintage, we love this couch and we love this color! We can't vouch on how comfortable it would be, but this 1970's rare chrome sofa designed by Milo Baughman is apparently considered more of a lounge chair. It’s recently been reupholstered in a gorgeous green leather.

3) Abstract Tile TableWe love this abstract and Modrian-esque table, and love even more the price! While the designer is unknown, what a great deal for a conversation-piece addition to a home. Made in the 1950's or 1960's, we love the retro and bright feel of this piece of furniture. The top lifts off of the geometric iron base for ease of moving!

4) An Unusual Morris Chair
This chair is so much more than just a chair, it's an architectural statement! It could both stand alone or compliment a great-looking interior. And, the best part of this chair is how it functions! It starts out as a comfortable side chair, but it has a working pull out foot rest! It coems from the gorgeous era of the 1930s.

5) Collection of 6 framed whimsical hand block printed textilesWe're a sucker for a good textile on the wall, and these gorgeous hand block printed ones from the 1940s and 1960s have such a mid-century yet homespun feel. Created by a group of designers from that era called the Folly Cove Designers, these textiles are archivally framed with UV protected plexiglass.
