According to the somewhat mysterious “about” page, Desire to Inspire all started near the end of 2006. Two self-proclaimed interior design junkies, Kim and Jo, are across the world from each other (Canada and Australia) and met on the photo sharing site Flickr. Noticing right off the bat a mutual love affair with all things design, they passed bookmarked images back and forth and according to Kim and Jo, “that was that.”
Thank goodness for us Kim and Jo had their serendipitous online meeting! Desire to Inspire is a blog that chronicles the most beautiful interiors across the world. Though they’ll occasionally post about other items, the blog primarily focuses on interior room shots. Living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, you name it! Each post usually either focuses on one particular designer, or groups interior shots by a theme like color, feel, texture, etc.
While you can find interior design inspiration from many great blogs online (plenty that we’ve profiled so far, too), Desire to Inspire is one of the most valuable inspiration tools out there because it allows you to really explore what your own tastes are. By flipping through pages and pages of interior room shots, you can bookmark rooms that catch your eye, and even possibly figure out your own style. Their newest reincarnation of the website features even bigger photographs, a clean and fresh graphic layout, and a streamlined, super organized labels page, perfect for searching out just the room you’re looking for.
