Last week we featured
Inhabitat.com, a fancy online eco-friendly lovers dream and the week before last brought you the stylish design suggestions of
MoCo Loco. Up on deck today for our weekly design blogger profile is Melissa Michaels of
The Inspired Room. A bit more home-centered than our last two weeks’ worth of profiles, we think you’ll enjoy the simple, fresh and thoughtful ideas in this blog.

The Inspired Room is one woman’s attempt to document and inspire what founder Melissa Michaels calls “authentic living.” Basically authentic living is the idea that if you focus on things you really love and that work for you, then you’ll naturally be living a life that actually works, without stresses, pressures and other negative feelings. The way this translates to your home is making sure you’re creating a home that you love and that works for you—not just trying to make it look like the cover of a design book or only listening to the advice from HGTV. Michaels does this in her own home and on the blog The Inspired Room by exploring her own loves and sharing them with her blog readers through home tours, advice columns, tips, ideas, products, colorful photos and plenty of other inspired material that readers can check out.
