Looking through Canet’s comprehensive portfolio, it’s not hard to see why she’s been so successful in this field so long: the interiors she has designed are sophisticated, bright, bold, complex and comfortable. Her website cites “her ability to create stunningly beautiful interiors” and we couldn’t agree more—stunning is the exact word that pops into mind when seeing a photograph of a room Canet has designed.
Because Canet and her firm work with a number of different clients, the scope of her work has been varied: some spaces have been modern, some more traditional, but all drop-dead gorgeous. As for a common thread or theme that runs through all of Canet’s work and sets it apart from other designers, Canet loves eclectic mixes in spaces—deftly pairing modern pieces with traditional antiques seamlessly. She also treasures comfort and functionality; these spaces don’t look like museums they look like homes. You can also count on her bringing a strong expertise in color and texture in her spaces—doing a great job creating palettes and combinations that are at once surprising and fresh. Custom-designed furniture ensures that many of her clients get completely unique spaces and her strong background in English and French antiques means her clients get only the highest-quality pieces for their spaces. It’s all about detail, style and clean lines in her interiors.
After attending the Inchbald School of Design in London, Canet also received an economics degree from Fordham University—meaning she not only knows how to design, she knows how to lead a successful business, as well. With offices in Manhattan, Long Island and soon to be Palm Beach, it’s no surprise that Canet’s projects span the country and are treasured by many. A member of ASID, Canet’s projects have been featured in such publications as House and Garden Magazine, House Beautiful Magazine, Traditional Home Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens Magazine and more. She’s also got a new venture on the horizon: the Sherrill Canet Home Collection, a great collection of home products that will include custom-design furniture and even carpet.
