Saying it’s hard to find a pair of Swank Lighting lamps to go with a Billy Haines-designed furniture piece is like saying there’s no water in the ocean: every pair of Swank Lighting lamps would look great with just about any Haines piece. It’s because of the fabulous Hollywood Regency style Haines designed in. Hollywood Regency, with its outpouring of glamour and fashion, is the perfect match to the luxury and quality of Swank Lighting products, and we think you’ll love today’s pair.

Though there were many characteristics to the Hollywood Regency style that stand out—like the use of bamboo details, Chinoserie, Lucite, metallics, sumptuous textures and more—one of our favorites is a simple one: the use of a high-gloss, rich, dramatic black.
This Pair of Custom Three Drawer Chests designed by William Haines is a perfect example. Their shape is simple: just a nice, sturdy rectangle featuring three spacious drawers. But what takes these chests from boring to fabulous is the bold paint job: they are a rich black and they are extremely shiny. These furniture pieces just wouldn’t hold people’s attention the same way if they weren't so shiny and reflective!

Of all the reasons why we love Swank Lighting lamps—their vintage appeal, the fabulous shapes, the wonderful textures—our favorite reason by far is the gorgeous colors the lamps come in. Sometimes we just can’t believe how bold or stunning a color is. This pair of
Barovier & Toso Stacked Egg Lamps appeals to us for their color. Sure, they are tall and graceful, featuring an interesting stacked egg shape, but it’s that—dare we repeat the description on the Swank Lighting website—sexy green that takes the lamps from normal to wow! Not a jarring or obnoxious green, it’s got just the right about of color to be fabulous, but a bit of softness that makes it accessible, too.

As you might guess, it was the thought of getting to combine the sexy green of these Barovier Swank Lighting lamps with the bold black of Haines’ Custom Three Drawer Chests that first attracted us to this combination, but we slowly saw other elements that made them perfect together. We enjoy the mimicry involved in the three stacked egg shapes of the lamps with the three stack drawers of each chest. We enjoy that each piece holds its own in the glossiness department. And, we appreciate that it’s the boldness of their colors and shine that take these pieces to super heights of style and luxury.
