Suzanne Kasler has a great eye for interior spaces. Browsing through the photos of her online portfolio, you see instantly that she treasures editing a space to clean out the clutter and get to the heart of its design. While each project definitely has its own distinct personality per the styles and tastes of each client, you can see how Kasler’s smart skills have a wave of commonality that wash over each room.
Full of classic details like strong architectural elements, checkerboard floors, white ceiling molding, soft colors, interesting textures and more, we just feel like each space is so fresh and clean. While you might not want to dance through any of these rooms with a tray of glasses of red wine, you can definitely see that these rooms do treasure comfort and relaxation.
This is not to say that Kasler is afraid of color or pattern; far from it. We spotted plenty of rooms that featured bold pops of strong hues, fun patterns and tight graphic details. This is all done in a very controlled and “put together” way, however. While she’s not afraid to take chances with her interior design, you can also see that she does so with one foot left on the ground, creating spaces that at once excite the senses but comfort the soul.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati and Harvard’s Program for Continuing Professional Education, Kasler combines a strong background in school with twenty years of commercial and residential design experience. She had a very successful commercial design firm in Indianapolis for some time, but then relocated to Atlanta with her husband, where she began a firm there in 1991.
Calling her own style a “a fresh mix of continental flavor and classic style,” Kasler claims to emphasize light, scale, and architectural elements, putting together what she calls collected spaces. We can’t help but notice that her interiors both feel timeless and forward thinking. Along with topping plenty of design lists, Kasler is also hard at work on her own textile line.
